Finally, after a year of waiting I get to see the second part of the Twilight Saga. And for now I am content.
I woke up excited to see New Moon today having purchased my ticket a week prior to today's date (thats how excited I was); only to see a shout out in Facebook that it has been canceled due to some ransacking episode of the movie reels in the plane carrying the precious film. Imagine how flabbergasted I was! But never the less, I decided to proceed to SM City to convince myself that this really was the case and to my surprise, there in plain letters were the words NEW MOON. I almost jumped with joy.
But as soon as I entered the cinema lobby I realized that it was not only I but hundreds of others who were out to see the most awaited film of this season. Well needless to say, I joined the throng of fans and lined up with my mother to enter a full packed movie house.
The SM-Bacolod cinema is not in IMAX format but who cared anyway, what with us sitting 4 rows nearest to the screen, we craned our necks to a larger than life screen and braved ourselves to what was in store.
Never in my entire existence have I been in a movie where a lot of the audience reacted to the first sight of an actor; but when Edward first entered the scene, almost all the girls in the audience reacted with either a sigh, a muffled giggle or a shout (yes, somebody shouted - im sure to the embarassment of her companions). This reaction happened again when Jacob took of his shirt for the first time (sigh, I almost joined in here).
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie! It gives us a slightly different Bella and I felt that Twilight only introduced us to the world created by Stephanie Meyer and it is here in New Moon where the action really picks up.
Expect yourselves to swoon, I mean i did but of course there are the loopholes that I will leave you all to discover. All in all New Moon feels like a two-hour music video. Check out the passing of the months after Edward left. The ending is very effective making you want to jump to next year for the next part.
Still, after my first (I'm sure to watch again) New Moon experience I'm still loyal to my vampire but you know what, Jacob Black will always have a space in my coffin anytime!!!
